Image Frame Options - Borders & Effects

Memento Yearbook provides a wide array of effects to enhance your images. Images dropped directly onto the canvas will by default appear with no effects, with the entire image exposed.

When an image frame is selected on the canvas, a toolbar appears at the top of the page. The toolbar includes advanced options which open on the right side pane.

Tip: All slider controls may be reset to their default values by double-clicking on the label.

Border Options Select one or more images on the canvas.  Click on Border on the top menu. Turn the border toggle on. Adjust the color by clicking on the color chip - the color picker will open. Adjust the border width with the slider bar. * This feature also available for Shape frames.

Shape Options Select one of more images on the canvas. Access the Shape option on the top menu. Choose a square (rectangle), circle or oval option. Use the corner radius slider to soften/harden the corner. Note that the corner radius slider transforms a frame between a rectangle to an oval. * This feature also available for Shape frames.

Shadow Options Select one or more images on the canvas. Click on the Shadow button on the toolbar. By default, the shadow is set to a standard black shadow. Adjust the shadow color with the color chip. Adjust the shadow blur level with the blur slider. Adjust the shadow depth with the depth slider. Adjust the shadow angle with the angle slider. * This feature also available for Shape frames.

Style options To access Border, Shadow and Shape options in a single controller, select one or more images on the canvas. Click the Style button to open the left-side pane. Expand the Border, Shadow and/or Shape controls to apply these to the selected images.

Image opacity Select an image frame Click the Image Opacity button on the toolbar Adjust the opacity slider.

Flipping an image in its frame To flip an image vertically or horizontally in its frame, select the image famr. Click on the Flip button on the toolbar. Select Flip horizontal and/or Flip vertically.

Frame order Frames are layered on the canvas. The last added frame is at the top of the order stack. To move a frame up or down the stack, select it. Click on Order on the tool bar. Move the frame back incrementally forward or back, or to the very top or bottom of the stack. * This feature also available for Shape frames.

Image Effects 

The color and light properties are adjusted in the Image Effect options.

Be cautious when adding effects to your images. Your computer monitor is most likely not color-calibrated  --  color and effect intensity may be much different on your printed book that what your screen displays. Sreens are luminous, unlike a printed page, so differences in light/dark and colors may appear more vivid that the final printed results. (For example, neon colors cannot be printed.)

Brightness, Contrast and Saturation

• Brightness changes the overall amount of light in your image. 
• Contrast changes the amount of difference between light and dark areas in your image. 
• Saturation change the intensity of color in your image. 

Greyscale, sepia, hue-rotation, and invert

• Greyscale desaturates the color from your image, transforming it into a black&white image.
• Sepia replaces the color in your image with brown/golden tones, for an antique look.
• Hue-rotation transforms all the colors in your image. Note that it does not retint/color wash the image, but shift the color gamut for your image.
• Invert reverses the color gamut of your image.

Hue-rotation and invert is best used to reversion backgrounds & clipart to match your page's color scheme. Turn one background into multiple color variants, or retint clipart.

Blur, opacity and image flip

• Blur defocuses your image.
• Opacity changes the transparency level of your image. (An opacity control is also available on the top image toolbar.
• Flip converts your image into a vertical or horizontal mirror.
