Portrait Image Frame Options

Portrait images are styled directly on the portrait page, just like a regular text image frame. Portrait templates using decorative elements and two portraits may also be customized.

Copying styling between portrait images

Portrait image styling may be copied from one frame to another individually or to an entire section. 
  • Select a frame that has been styled.
  • On the toolbar, choose the extended menu.
  • Copy settings.

  • Move to a different image frame.
  • On the toolbar, choose the extended menu.
  • Apply the settings.
 


Re-cropping a portrait image


Portrait images may be cropped and repositioned within their frame individually.

  • Select an image in the portrait grid.
  • Choose Portrait in the top toolbar. Do not choose Page or Section or all images will be zoomed/repositioned.
  • Click on the toolbar menu icon.
  • Enable Pan/Zoom
  • Drag on the zoom and pan handles to adjust the image within its frame.
    The entire image is ghosted to let you position it better within the frame.

  • When the position is fixed, access the toolbar menu icon again.
  • Disable Pan/Zoom.

  • Select a image frame on a portrait template
  • On the toolbar, choose Section to apply changes to all images in the section; choose Page to only update the images on the selected page; choose Image to only update the individually selected image frame,
  • Apply changes to the images: update its border, shape, fill color, and shadow.
Do not use Opacity controls on any portrait image.

Do not use Image FX - Hue/Rotate, Brightness, Contrast or Saturation on the portraits supplied to you by your studio. These should be professionally color corrected.

Shape frames & elements

Portrait templates that include a shape frame or decorative elements may be customized.

  • Select a shape frame on a portrait template
  • On the toolbar, choose Section to apply changes to all images in the section; choose Page to only update the images on the selected page; choose Image to only update the individually selected image frame,
  • Apply changes to the shape: update its border, shape, fill color, and shadow.
  • Select an element on a portrait template
  • On the toolbar, choose Section to apply changes to all images in the section; choose Page to only update the images on the selected page; choose Image to only update the individually selected image frame,
  • To retint the element, click on FX, then access the slider options on the right side pane (brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia, hue-rotate.

Duo mode portrait templates

Portrait templates with two photos may be styled separately.
  • Click on either the primary or the secondary portrait frame.
  • On the toolbar, choose Section to apply changes to all images in the section; choose Page to only update the images on the selected page; choose Image to only update the individually selected image frame,
  • Apply changes to the image frame: change border, shape, shadow properties as desired.
Choose which image appears in the primary and secondary portrait on the Portrait Lab > Advanced Settings > Layout Styling area.
